A weekend getaway with good friends and a long drive can only mean nostalgia. We decided to drive up north to the beautiful Subic in Pampanga. We drove down from Manila a little past half 3 in the afternoon already. It was a smooth long drive going there, I should say. After checking out some stores at Duty Free, we headed towards the Bay Walk Area. Unfortunately, we missed the sunset since it was too gloomy that day. So we decided to find Subic’s hiden gems.
We drove a little more around Subic Freeport Zone until we found ourselves dining at Texas Joe’s House of Ribs. What better way to spend an afternoon at Subic than immerse in the all American vibe that the area brings. We ordered fries, rice and their famous ribs. It was just a feast.
After a heavy meal, we decided to check out the carnival we saw on our way earlier that day. We drove back to the very festive, Fiesta Carnival Subic.
It was fun to act like kids again as we enjoyed our time playing around the carnival games and riding the rollercoaster. We ended up laughing our hearts out after the thrilling ride and I felt so blessed to have felt that genuine happiness like a child again.
