It was our first out-of-the-country trip and we were definitely excited. We, unfortunately, had to cancel our scheduled Hong Kong trip on the same month so we can go to Singapore instead. The long wait was over. We were anxious and excited at the same time. I was like a kid excited to ride an international plane for the first time.
We finally boarded our Cebu Pacific flight, an hour late as expected. But the airline’s mishaps cannot stop our enthusiasm. A little over 3 hours of flight and we arrived the lion city half past five in the afternoon. We are, admittedly, both stupid when it comes to direction; but the train and bus system of Singapore is so easy to learn. Even direction dummies like us didn’t have a hard time figuring everything out.
We were excited to see the city so we hurried going from train to train to reach our place. Little did we know, it was near Singapore’s Little India. Part of the adventure we enjoyed the most is the feeling of uncertainty and not knowing exactly where to go. We explored the train system until we reached Little India. It took us from one end to another and got lost a bit before finally tracking down our hostel.
I am not ashamed to tell that this trip was on a budget, so might as well book a room where we can practically have a decent bed to sleep. And to be honestly fair, D & E Inn is a very decent and economic place to stay in when touring in SG. We settled our stuff in but did not waste any time and got back to the train for our next destination. It was a one ride away before we reach Vivo City to meet my partner’s friend. We dined in the fabulous King Louis Grill & Bar. They served a platter of meat and veggies fit for a royalty and it was a feast.
We were quite tired so we opted to take a good rest on our first night in preparation to our big day the next day.
