Yamazaki Nostalgia

After we enjoyed strolling down the park on a Sunday afternoon, we craved for Japanese food, yet again. So since we were in Makati, we decided to have an early dinner at one of my favorite Japanese restaurants, Yamazaki.

It was just my second time in there; but it became and instantaneous love affair. Yamazaki is located in 2277 Fernando Street Corner Chino Roces Avenue, Makati just within the infamous Little Tokyo. I was stunned when I first got in the restaurant. It has the whole vibe of an authentic Japanese street resto. Not too commercialized, it is divided in three: the mini grocery selling all sorts of Japanese food and products, the non smoking and smoking area for dining.

You would really feel like you’re in Tokyo or somewhere in downtown Osaka when you’re in it. It pretty much looks like what we watch in television when they feature Japan and its restaurants. It looks exactly like one. The grocery is another story bringing back childhood memories I thought I’ll never experience again.

So we went and dine at the smoking area where we were given the menu. My friend was shocked with how affordable the food is. I told him, Affordable Japanese food is what’s best in Yamazaki, making the waiting line a constant reminder of its greatness.

While waiting for our order, you can enjoy either shopping at the mini grocery or scanning through the Japanese comics you can pull and read from their collection.

If you can go and experience Yamazaki, I would highly recommend you to try their amazing fried rice and the phenomenal mixed vegetables.

The mixed veggies were so good that I had to order 3 plates the first time I was there.

Overall, my expectations the second time around never disappointed me. It was authentic Japanese food at a cost of no more than P250.00 per head.
