Find Your Fuckin Happiness

Recently I had the opportunity to sit down in a class headed by Mr. Olives. As we prepared and discussed the usual (work related matters), he shared some valuable lessons that shook me. Being a well respected executive for over 25 years, his wisdom could never be taken for granted.

Attending the class served as a good motivation. In a spectrum not limited to work, the words are simple but striking.

We work hard and dedicate ourselves in the craft we do. We devote our time and efforts, all to please our superiors. For more than two decades he realized, working for the company and your boss is not all that. There is more to life than proving yourself to someone.

At times we are too concerned to be recognized and accepted. We forget ourselves in the process. We can’t look back, we think, because we’re almost there. The balance of work and personal life was shattered. One has to make sacrifices for the benefit of the other.

The bottom-line is, never forget to look inside and take care of you. Find your happiness. Follow your heart. At the end of it all, no one really cares what you’ve achieved. It’s your own peace that matters, your worth.
